What
is in the workbooks?
Wessex
English Workbooks (on paper or CD) are different from most study
guides. Each workbook is interactive and written directly to the
student. Spaces are provided in which students write their responses
to the questions set so that they can develop their own thoughts
and ideas before reading those of the author, which follow. Each
workbook takes the student through the text and also contains a
brief autobiography of the author, close textual analysis, criticism,
references to language, style, characterisation, etc. A/AS essay
questions are also included.
How
can they be used?
The
materials can be used for individual work, group work and as a revision
aid. Many teachers use them simply as a flexible teaching tool or
as a source of ideas for their own teaching.
How
does the CD differ from the printed version?
The
CD contains exactly the same workbook (in pdf format) as you get
if you buy the photocopiable version. It also contains:
- a
question only version of the Student Workbook (i.e. without the
answers)
- an
answer booklet (i.e. containing the author's response to each
question).
How
many copies can I make?
You
can print as many copies as you like for use within your own institution
and the CD version can be put onto your college/school intranet
free of charge.
